Photo Gallery | Local Talent Step in as Creative Ambassadors at 2012 Sundance Festival
Remember our Super NoVa Nicholas Cambata of 8112 Studios? Back in September, Cambata was aspiring to be the 'Creative Ambassador' of the region.
Now Cambata and his production company, 8112 Studios, are back in the spotlight after being tapped by the D.C. Council to lead the area's Creative Ambassadors at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, which ran from January 19th through January 29th. Sundance is the premier showcase for independent film held each winter in Park City, Utah.
"We went to Sundance not only to form connections for our own future film projects, but also as creative ambassadors on behalf of the D.C. government, hoping to not only expand the district's presence in the film community, but also research how D.C. can be a more attractive destination for independent filmmakers," said Cambata.
Delegation members included Pergrin Pervez, Nicholas Cambata, Douglas Sonders, Elizabet Webster (DC Council Office of Vincent Orange), and Ray Regan.
"We made countless vital connections, partied with celebrities like Paris Hilton, Mary J. Blige, and Ludacris," said Pergrin Pervez of 8112 Studios.
"8112 was representing Washington D.C. and the goal was to establish connections and get a lay of the land as next year DC and 8112 plan on having a bigger presence that will serve to attract filmmakers and creatives to D.C," Pervez added.
