Capital Bikeshare has more than survived its first winter, it has thrived thanks in part to strong participation in the regional bikesharing system’s Winter Weather Warrior Contest. 900 annual members participated in the contest, taking nearly 30,000 trips in two months, and Capital Bikeshare posted near ridership totals in the month of February.

Wizards Viewing Parties Continue in Arlington

WASHINGTON, D.C. –As the second half of the NBA season gets underway, Arlington Rooftop Bar & Grill and Front Page will host viewing parties on Wednesday, February 23 when the Washington Wizards take on the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia. Tipoff is at 7:00 pm. Arlington Rooftop will kick off the viewing party at 6:00 pm with happy hour specials. The party will continue at Front Page where fans will enjoy $1.50 Bud Light draft and half price burgers as well as $3.00 off appetizers.

Tonight from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. there will be a viewing party for the Washington Wizards at Mister Days in Arlington. Mister Days is located at 3100 Clarendon Blvd. Wizards fans will have a chance to watch the team’s road game against the Orlando Magic. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. Fans at  the viewing party will enjoy specials such as $2 drafts and a $2 food menu. The Wizards Girls will also be there to pass out prizes.

Dreams for Kids and the Washington Capitals team up for Extreme Recess Hockey

Today the Washington Capitals and Dreams for Kids joined together give children with physical and developmental disabilities the chance to get on the ice rink and play hockey! For many of the children, it was their very first time. There are over 12,000 children living with disabilities in DC, so this event is aimed at empowering this children as well as spreading awareness about the power that athletics can have in the lives of all children, disabled or not.
