Capital Bikeshare Launches Summertime Competition to Reward Reverse Riders

Capital Bikeshare Launches Summertime Competition to Reward Reverse Riders

From DDOT Media:

(Washington, D.C.) Don’t go with the flow this summer—do the opposite and it could pay off. That’s what Capital Bikeshare will be telling its members soon. The regional bikesharing network is launching a Reverse Rider Rewards competition on June 1 to support the system’s rebalancing and redistribution efforts.

The goal is to enlist the help of Capital Bikeshare annual members to help redistribute bicycles throughout the bikesharing system during the peak hours of 8am-10am, Mondays through Fridays, and provide incentives to do so.

Amazing Soccer Goal Earning Arlington Teen National Acclaim

With D.C. United off to an incredibly mediocre start, and the team's future in the Capital City very much in doubt, many within the D.C. Metro soccer community have found themselves searching for something to be proud of.

Enter 13-year-old Kenner Galeas, a member of the U-14 Civitan Bengals of the Arlington Soccer Association, and his magical moment that is gaining national acclaim.

This past Sunday Galeas was playing in a game for Civitan, when he scored an incredible bicycle-kick goal, one that was caught on tape and has since gone viral.  The video already has over 20,000 views on Youtube and has been published by national blogs such as Deadspin.com.

There are Yoga Classes for Everyone

There are Yoga Classes for Everyone

I have been hesitating to start taking yoga because I am not flexible and all the people I know that take yoga are flexible. Is there a yoga class for me?

Absolutely. The people you know that are taking yoga are flexible BECAUSE they are practicing yoga. They are not necessarily practicing yoga because they are flexible!

Most of the yoga classes offered at studios and fitness centers teach the physical practice of yoga (asana) which is designed to increase flexibility, strength, and balance.

In classes you will be taught how to get into and out of poses safely, lengthen and strengthen muscles and to move in new and different ways than you are accustomed to moving.  New patterns of movement bring on increased flexibility and strength.
