Local Home Services Company Holds Susan G. Komen Charity Event At Local Chick-Fil-A

From Christopher Thompson:

Arlington, VA – Michael & Son Services continues their efforts to raise $50,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness and research.  Michael & Son is holding a charity Dine-in event at the Chick-Fil-A in Ballston Common Mall and Crystal City Mall Tuesday, March 29th from 5pm to 8:00 pm. 15% of all sales will go to the Komen Foundation.  Michael & Son Services will be present providing guests with a raffle, prizes and the chance to win tickets to Caps and Wizards games.

Basim Mansour, president of the company, said, “This is something very near and dear to my heart.  My mother passed away from breast cancer in 2007.  Last year we raised $10,000 during a week long event and we got such a rush from it that I promised to raise $50,000 this year.”

Last year's event caught the attention of the Komen foundation's headquarters in Austin, Texas which spurred a relationship with the National Operations Director Mona Locke, who visited the Michael & Son offices to personally receive the donation.  Last year the Michael & Son team wore pink t-shirts to customer homes and donated a percentage of work done for the final week of breast cancer awareness month.  This year the company has teamed up with some sponsors and has held car washes and beginning a morning campaign offering coffee and donuts for donations.  To date, they have raised $5,439.
