Annual Arbor Day Celebration in Old Town Manassas Features George Carr Round

The 27th annual Arbor Day Celebration, presented by the City of Manassas Beautification Committee, will be held on Fri., Apr. 29 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the Old Courthouse lawn in Old Town Manassas, featuring guest speaker, George Carr Round, a Union Army Signal Corps veteran, played by Doug Nelson of Prince William County, Va.  Round was significant in creating the town of Manassas and organized the 1911 Peace Jubilee. Round will also be at the National Peace Jubilee event on Thurs., July 21 at the Old Courthouse lawn. Old Town Manassas Farmer’s Markets are open Thursdays and Saturdays, now through November.
