Woman groped on Arlington trail is month's 6th assault

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A 27-year-old woman, who was with her three-year-old daughter, was groped and grabbed by a man Friday night on a trail in Arlington, Va., according to Arlington police.

This is the sixth report of sexual assaults in area parks in the past month.

The sexual assault happened around 8 p.m. when a woman entered the trail on Lubber Run Park from George Mason Drive, police said. The woman became uncomfortable about being on the trail while it was dark and headed back to G. Mason Drive. A man then appeared on the trail and touched her inappropriately, authorities added.

She screamed and the suspect ran away. Officers searched the area, however did not find anybody.

Police say the suspect is described as a Hispanic man, standing about 5'7" and has a medium built. This is not the same description of a male suspect who is currently wanted in connection with other attacks in the Arlington area, police said.
