Man wanted in robbery, assault of man in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police are searching for a man in connection with a robbery and assault of a 22-year-old man in the Clarendon area of Arlington on August 1.

The assault happened between 2 and 3 a.m. in the area of the 1400 block of N. Fillmore Street, Arlington County police said.The victim was hit in the back of the head with an object and then lost consciousness. The man needed medical attention, according to authorities.

The suspect stolen the victim's cash, driver's license and military ID.

Police say at least one witness helped the victim after he was hit in the back of the head. The witness did not stay at the scene and believe the person can provide useful information on the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
