All clear given at Arlington Cemetery after suspicious package
News

ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- An all-clear has been given at Arlington National Cemetery after authorities investigated a suspicious package.

Just before 2 p.m. Thursday, U.S. Park police responded to a report of a suspicious package at the entrance of the cemetery. When officers examined the package they believed it would be best handled by bomb squad technicians.

Members of the Arlington Fire Department Bomb Squad responded and cleared the package, and all roadways were reopened at approximately 3 p.m.

U.S. Park police described the package as a pipe with wire sticking out of it. It was later determined to be electrical components from a lighting fixture.
