Showroom Managers Julia Walter and Brian Fell along with Boffi's Lilian Leong and Maxalto's Thor Ochs welcome guests for an evening soiree Boffi-Maxalto held a Summer Soiree on June 26 at the Boffi-Maxalto Showroom, 3320 M Street NW in Cady's Alley/Georgetown. Boffi-Maxalto kicked off summer with specially-created hors d'oeuvres by renown Chef Roberto Donna, Esquire's 2012 Chef of the Year, as well as a Prosecco tasting with Altaneve. The chef was interacting with guests while preparing risotto in one of the Boffi kitchens.

Pum Lefebure, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Design Army, www.designarmy.com, is one of only two US judges in the Design category at the global 61st Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, June 15-21, in France. She was selected to judge the world's leading celebration of creativity in communications.

METRO SCHOOL of the ARTS TAP ENSEMBLE  PERFORMS AT WEDNESDAY’s CHILD GALA

Metropolitan School of the Arts’ Youth Tap Ensemble tapped their way through a choreographed performance at the Wednesday’s Child Gala, which hosted potential adoptive parents and children at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City, Va. Go to www.metropolitanarts.org.

The Metropolitan School of the Arts Tap Ensemble is the resident, pre-professional tap dance company at the Metropolitan School of the Arts in Lorton, Va.  Tap dancers are 12- to 17 years old, and most of them have been tap dancing since kindergarten.  The 11 dancers in this year’s company are selected and audition every year to be a part of the ensemble.  They have performed in a variety of venues from New York City to Chicago, as well as the Atlas Performing Arts Center and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

Srinagesh Paluvoi, M.D. is offering free asthma screenings on Sat., May 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gainesville District Volunteer Fire Department on 14450 John Marshall Highway in Gainesville, Va., in honor of National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. “Asthma can be debilitating if not treated properly,” said Srinagesh Paluvoi, M.D., allergist and owner of Allergy and Asthma Affiliates of Gainesville, Lansdowne and Falls Church, Va. “Many people don’t realize that they have asthma, until they end up in an emergency room, which is why I’m a strong advocate for preventive screenings and treatments,” said Dr. Paluvoi.

Monza’s Cinco De Mayo Madness menu includes: pork or chicken tacos with corn tortilla, avocado slices, pico de gallo, cheese; fish tacos with corn tortilla, tilapia, avocado slices, pico de gallo and sriracha aioli; and nacho platter Supremo, served with tortilla chips, pico de gallo, sour cream, black bean salsa and cheese. METRO SCHOOL of the ARTS ‘SINGING the ‘BLUES’ for AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH

In support of Autism Awareness Month, Metropolitan School of the Arts is asking all of its studio students to ‘go blue’ now through April 30.  Students who wear blue during class, Monday through Friday in April, Metropolitan School of the Arts will donate $1 for each student that wears blue, per day. Metropolitan School of the Arts offers pre-professional dance, theatre, musical and vocal studio classes for youth and teens, as well as adult dance and fitness classes, including Metro Barre, yoga and Pilates.
