BASIS.ed Tops School Rankings in US News & World Report and Washington Post

In rankings released yesterday by U.S. News & World Report, BASIS.ed schools were named the #2, #3, and #6 best high schools in the nation.

The rankings, which highlight top-performing public schools on a state and national level, had BASIS Scottsdale as #2 in the nation for the second consecutive year, as well as the #1 charter school in the nation and the #1 high school in Arizona. BASIS Tucson North was #3 nationally, the #2 charter school nationally, and the #2 high school in Arizona. BASIS Oro Valley is the #6 high school in the nation, the #3 charter in the U.S. and #3 high school in Arizona.

Carmello’s Restaurant Week menu offers 3-courses from the following selections:

Course One: Mozzarella Spedini, Crab Fritters Portuguesa or Salada Mista de Alcachofas

Course Two: Linguine Mar e Monte, Agnolotti con Pesto, Filete de Robalo ala Vasca or Chicken Marsala

Course Three: Mascarpone Mousse with Strawberry Sauce, New York Style Cheesecake or Crème Brûlée

Monza’s Restaurant Week Menu offers 2-courses from the following menu:

Carmello’s is hosting a Cakebread Cellar Wine Dinner, Thurs., Feb. 11. at 7 p.m. for $110 inclusive, per person at Carmello’s on Center Street in Manassas, Va. The four-course dinner will feature Cakebread Cellar wines that complement dishes from Carmello’s new winter menu.  A special Valentine’s Day dinner is also being served from Fri., Feb. 12 through Sun., Feb. 14 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., to include a rose. Maureen Loftus, executive director of LearningRx of Vienna, Va., and Reston, Va. is leading the fourth annual Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce (TRCC) job shadow program for 60, 11th and 12th grade students of Oakton, James Madison and George C. Marshall high schools in Fairfax County, Va., where students will shadow professionals in various industries for one day in  January or February. The program received a Blue Ribbon Award from Fairfax County Schools in 2014. Loftus is heading up the program as she is the chair of the TRCC’s Youth and Education Committee.
