Three-day photo expo features free admission, free vendor demos and free classes for beginning photographers, as well as 15+ reasonably-priced advanced seminars, classes and lectures with experts like Bryan Peterson. Hands-on learning includes iPhone photography and shooting raptors (live hawks, owls and falcons) in a natural setting.

The 2013 Nature Visions Expo, organized by seven photography clubs of the Mid Atlantic Photography Association, comes to the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas, Virginia  on November 8-10, 2013 (8 minutes from I-66 Exit 44 at the Prince William campus of George Mason University).

Noted commercial photographer and teacher for 30 years, Bryan Peterson, headlines the Expo.  Peterson has been a contributing editor at Popular Photography and Outdoor Photographer magazines and author of Understanding Exposure, Understanding Flash and other best-selling photography books.  Peterson will present a full day seminar, “Learning to See Creatively,” at the Hylton Center on Nov. 8. He also will deliver the two-hour Expo keynote address, “Flashes of Inspiration,” on Nov. 9.

Nature Visions gives amateur and advanced photographers alike a chance to learn about the latest equipment and techniques in the exciting world of photography. Choose from 15+ advanced photography lectures and educational classes that will explore techniques and topics to sharpen photographic skills. Here are some of the illustrated lectures in which photographic experts will share their knowledge and experience:

Prices for the full day seminar, keynote presentation and advanced workshops are listed on the NatureVisions.org website.

This year, entrance to the exhibit hall, where visitors can see 325 outstanding nature images for sale by top area photographers, is FREE. Entrance to the vendor area is also FREE, where visitors can shop at 30 great vendors, including PhotoCraft, Nikon, Canon, Olympus and Fuji and take advantage of show floor deals on photography equipment, instruction and more. Vendor demonstrations are FREE.  Beginner classes are FREE, thanks to partial funding provided by Prince William County, but space is limited and registration is required. Two Nov. 10 presentations by Julieanne Kost, “Lightroom & Photoshop Secrets” and “Lightroom & Photoshop in My Photography” are also FREE.

Nature Visions Photo Expo 2013 is organized by active members of seven photography clubs in the Mid-Atlantic area:  the Loudoun Photography Club, Manassas-Warrenton Camera Club, McLean Photography Club, Northern Virginia Photographic Society, Reston Photographic Society, Vienna Photographic Society and our newest organizing member, the NIH Camera Club. Past years’ expos have attracted attendees from five states.

2013 Nature Visions – A Mid-Atlantic Photography Association Expo is Nov. 8-10, 2013 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University’s Prince William campus, 10900 University Boulevard, Manassas, Virginia 20110 – just 8 minutes from I-66 Exit 44.
